Dear Family of Aunt Kate,
Aunt Kate was like a grandmother and aunt to us from the first time we met her. We moved in next door to her in Vienna when Ken was not quite two years old. We had no other local family and she extended such kindness and opened up her heart and home as only she could. Ken and Aunt Kate's birthdays were only a week apart so we always celebrated with her. What a blessing to see her live with a childlike joy - no matter the number of birthdays!
We cherish our memories of her and the time and tales she shared. We are so grateful to God and count it as a gift that she graced our lives with her spunk and spirit. May the Lord now welcome her home as she lovingly welcomed us into her family.

We are sorry to hear of your loss. Her Uncle Skip would have gotten in his truck and driven out if he could. He loved his sister Gladys and her family so much. I'm sure there was a crowd to welcome Petie into glory. They will be there for the est of us someday.
I wish we had kept in touch. Sue does a much better job. I have fond memories of the farm and seeing Petie as I was growing up. I know she was loved. No one can ask for more than that.

Hello All of You Dear ones in WVa,
While reading about Petie, I was suddenly transported in thought to a time when she & Aunt Gladys came to CA to visit us (The CA Hickmans). JoAnn, you were just a baby & I was so thrilled to hold you, especially in the car (heavens, I don't know how any of us survived!). Oh my you were so beautiful, really, truly and Jamie too. I remember,your mom wrote to your dad every day. I think he was in the service then. Her eyes lit up when she spoke about him. I loved your mom even though we didn't keep in touch, I have the fondest memories of her and you and of course your grandma, my Aunt Gladys. They were the best--so warm, inviting, & loving. I'm so glad you got together with my sister Sue & neice Sarah last Spring. Most of all, I'm glad we can look forward to being reunited in heaven one day because we all believe!Now, that's gonna be the best Hickman Reunion ever!!!
I pray your faith will comfort you at this sad time as you recall the stories, events, and wonderful memories you have of her. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Wanted to express my loving memories of Aunt Glenna.
She was always a joy in our lives when we were young, and as I got older and grew up. I remember a lot of good times at her house, ours, Harry's and others. Barbara taking me to the pool and park across the street. Picnics in the park with our families, Christmas time. I remember her coming to our house every year around Christmas and we would tell her all these toys we wanted. Every year we would always get underwear and t-shirts instead. As I grew older I understood she was helping us a lot more then toys ever would. Wanted to let you know I am praying for your peace, and I know she was saved, so I rejoice at that.
